YOUR LAST DIVE | 2023
SCHOOL PROJECT (3 month)
Pitch : A crew. A submarine. An unknown aquatic planet. And no more stars in the galaxy. You are among the last survivors of a dying world, searching for a reprieve from your inevitable end.
This is precisely what leads you to this celestial body composed of a single ocean, for your last hope lies within it. You will therefore have to plunge into the darkest waters in order to, perhaps, find an escape from your grim fate.
Cooperate or betray, move forward or stagnate, the choice is yours.
So are the consequences.

Context
During my first year at ISART Digital Paris, I spent three months creating Your Last Dive. I worked in a team of five game designers and five game artists to create this board game.

My Work
● The main part of my work on this game was reflecting on the mechanics and narrative design. Our constraint was to incorporate the concept of « light » into the gameplay.
We achieved this by writing a story about following a light, making it the goal of the game, and integrating it directly into the gameplay.
● I wrote a large portion of the object cards, about 25 out of 40. I tried my best to make them feel logical within our world and interesting to use in the game.
I also wrote many event cards, with the goal of reinforcing our world-building, enhancing replayability, and creating a sense of surprise.

● Our game is both cooperative and competitive. You need others to survive, but you also need to focus on the objective of the role that was assigned to you at the beginning.
We built our core gameplay around this idea of cooperation and betrayal, and I think it works very well.
● When we finished the project, we had a day with some professionals in the field, and we presented our game to them.
There were some game designers and members of the Jury des As d’Or.
We didn’t win a prize, but they all had a great time playing our game!
